The minister of Transportation and Communications, Goran Sugareski, informed today about the details from the Memorandum for understanding between Macedonia and Bulgaria regarding the development of a railroad network.
He stressed that the signing of this Memorandum is a precondition for a sustainable economic growth and development in the region.
-With this Memorandum, we are obliging in the forthcoming period to build and finish the building of the railroad tracks to Bulgaria and to modernize it and the Government of Bulgaria has obliged to build the railroad to our border which will conclude the railroad connection. The total length that has to be built to the border with Bulgaria is 89 km. The process is divided into three parts and we as a Government will act within the framework of these plans since the procedures are already started 0 said Sugareski.
He also said that the road Kumanovo -Beljakovce is in a phase of realization and the assets in the amount of 46 million of euros are provided by the European Bank for Renewal and Development.
