Albanian and Macedonian students came out this afternoon on a protest held at Tetovo square and on a march down the boulevard Ilinden. They demanded external testing and the new way of taking the state graduation to be canceled.
– Few tests cannot evaluate all the knowledge we have acquired during the year. We do not give up so easily from our demands. We decided to take a stand together, both Macedonians and Albanians, because poor education reforms concern us all – stated a high school student.
The protest march was also supported by high school students from Tetovo gymnasium and medical school. Due to pressures, students from other schools failed to join them.
– I personally witnessed how the door of the schoolyard by school management, not allowing them to go out, even though the students of economic school wanted to participate in the protest – stated a member of “High school plenum”.
There are similar pressures in other high schools as well, add representatives of the plenum, who say that, despite of that, they still will not give up the protest and boycott of classes.
