The government has created the idea conditions for executing a coup d’etat within the Interior Ministry, said Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski at a news conference. He said he was denied by the Government to head the ministry “in these extremely difficult times for the country” and to be held accountable for the “consequences of this deliberately created chaos in the ministry.”
“The government for reasons unclear to me disobeyed my clearly expressed will through resignation filed on April the 6, 2016, the Minister of Interior and not the Parliament. On the other hand, the government twice annulled decisions and regulations adopted by my side. That department should be the guardian of the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Macedonia, and with its illegal decisions the legal system is fully deteriorating and has caused complete chaos in the functioning of the Ministry of Interior”, Spasovski said.
According to the Interior Minister, despite all indications, warnings and orders submitted to the directors of the departments in the Interior Ministry and to all employees of the Ministry, the Government with the decision made the night before the dissolution of Parliament shot out the final blow to the legal system in Macedonia and the normal operations of the Ministry of Interior.
