Social Democratic Union of Macedonia welcomes the conclusions of the Council of EU ministers, reads the statement of SDSM.
“In the conclusions, the European Union recommends that the priority for Macedonia is to solve systemic problems with the rule of law, including in respect of the violation of basic human rights, judicial independence, media freedom, corruption, elections. These systemic problems and abuses of power are the major cause of the deep political crisis. The resolution of systemic problems, de-politicization of state institutions, the delineation of the party from the state, electoral reform and the creation of conditions for fair and democratic elections, clearly set out in the conclusions of the EU may be secured only by a transitional government without Nikola Gruevski, which will organize next election,” reads the statement of the opposition.
