This is a new scandal after a series of scandals, last of which was with the issue with Mijalkov’s diplomatic passport”, was the response from the opposition SDSM regarding information that the Former Director of the Security and Counter-intelligence (SCI) Sasho Mijalkov was arrested at Belgrade airport “Nikola Tesla”after a gun was found in his suitcase.
SDSM ask: How did Mijalkov managed to pass security at Skopje’s Airport and who allowed him to pass without his personal luggage being checked?
“Who will take responsibility that an unregistered gun was allowed on an aeroplane? Who guarantees the safety of air travel? In addition, this scandal raises other questions, what else does Sasho Mijalkov bring in his luggage, because apparently he passes through security unchecked in Macedonia. If he did not declare his gun, what else is Sasho Mijalkov not declaring when leaving the country? ” Said the statement from SDSM.
The main opposition party said these events once again confirm the need for a thorough renovation of the state system and institutions in Macedonia.
“One thing is clear. Sasho Mijalkov’s time is running out as things tighten around him. There is no escape from responsibility, wherever he goes”, said SDSM.
