Sasho Tasevski appointed new director of Public Safety Bureau

At today’s government session, the proposal to nominate Sasho Tasevski as the new director of the Public Security Bureau was adopted unanimously. This information was shared on the Government’s official Facebook profile by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrej Zernovski, who attended the government session because Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov was unable due to an official visit to the United States.

Tasevski has a MSc in Security and a PhD from the Faculty of Security. From2001 he worked with the President of the Republic Branko Crvenkovski, in the department for foreign delegations, and then with the Minister of Interia, Oliver Spasovski.

At the beginning of his career, Tasevski was a member of the Special Operations Unit – Tigers. He attended a course for providing security for VIPs in the United States in 2004.

Tasevski became known to the public as the police officer from the security of Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski, who took out a firearm and fired in defense during the parliamentary attack on April 27th, last year.

His appointment comes after Lazo Velkovski was dismissed as director of the Public Security Bureau after he sent his daughter on vacation to Greece with an official jeep without permission.
