After President Gjorgje Ivanov signed the decree for Law on higher educated, “Professorial plenum” sent a statement saying that it would use all legal instruments, including forms of civil disobedience.
“Dear citizens, we point out that the President signed the decrees declaring laws contain unconstitutional provisions, which undermines the autonomy of the university and the right to education, provisions contrary to the European Convention of Human Rights, contrary to norms of European educational standards, confusing and contradictory provisions, unenforceable and inapplicable norms, norms that will deepen rather than solve educational problems,” reads the statement.
