President Ivanov seeking to be informed regarding name negotiations process

President Gjorge Ivanov has not received any information about the agreed framework for overcoming the name dispute, and yesterday called on Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov, the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia announced.

“The Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia has not been provided information on the agreed framework for a possible solution to the name dispute, nor has there been any information regarding the last two meetings between the foreign ministers of the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Greece, held in Brussels and New York. The Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia has not been informed either of the composition or the work of the legal teams from the two countries in Athens on the text of the bilateral agreement,”,stated Ivanov’s office.

From there they point out that Ivanov had not previously submitted the proposed package for the name Ilinden Macedonia, although the head of state asked for a written document on the latest course of events related to the name dispute.

The Cabinet of the President added that he had asked several times before he had received documents related to the course of the talks, including the draft text of the bilateral agreement to overcome the difference in the name, submitted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, assessing that, selective information was given to the Macedonian President.
