The Minister without portfolio responsible for communications, accountability, and transparency, Robert Popovski, after today’s meeting with the Ambassador of Netherlands Wouter Plomp.
During the meeting, the current condition in the media was discussed including the announcement of reforms in the legislative in the media sector.
Ambassador Plomp was acquainted with the details of the proposals for changes in the Law for audio and audio-visual media services.
The Minister Popovski once again stressed that the obligations that were appointed to him on part of the Government, to be responsible towards the transparency and the accountability, will fulfill the void between the exclusively technical information from state public services and the need for a truly essential content that is needed for the general public to closely monitor the Government’s work.
“Ambassador Plomp has remarked the announced reforms as necessary and has expressed an interest in having more meetings with Minister Popovski directed towards more intense cooperation with the Embassy of Kingdom of Netherlands in the support of the media reforms in Macedonia” informs the Government.
