No reports of injured Macedonian nationals in explosions in Brussels

After a series of explosions this morning in Brussels, Belgium, at least 17 people have been killed and dozens have been wounded, according to the latest information. injured

Early this morning, two explosions tore through parts of the Brussels ‘Zaventem’ Airport and some of the media are reporting about more explosions that took place in multiple metro stations around Brussels.

Belgian authorities have confirmed that they have shut down all metro stations, all public transport, museums and have closed the buildings of the European Union.

The Macedonian Embassy in Brussels have told “Meta” that around the city they can constantly hear sirens from police cars and emergency vehicles.
In Belgium there is a large Macedonian community, however the Embassy said that they have had no reports of injuries or deaths of any Macedonian citizens from the explosions.

The Embassy informed us that the explosion at the metro station Maalbeek occurred only 200 meters from the premises of the Macedonian Embassy.

There is now information on a bomb at Schuman metro station, which is near the building of the European Commission.
