Nikoloski: Moscow is not our partner and the Government’s decision was a right one

-

Vice President of the VMRO-DPMNE party, Aleksandar Nikoloski, in an interview for the “200” TV show on Alsat TV, said that the government’s move to expel a Russian diplomat is fine and that “Moscow is not our partner, our partners are Brussels, London and Washington”.

“Both the Foreign Minister and the Government made the mistake of excluding the opposition from this process of information sharing and consultations with the opposition. We condemn what happened in the UK, we think it is a direct attack on the country, to which we have strong sympathies. Our partners are Brussels, London and Washington. Macedonia’s place is in the EU and NATO. And that’s why we believe that what the Government has done is fine”, said Nikoloski.

When asked to comment on the position of President Gjorge Ivanov, who said the government had been hasty in their decision, Nikoloski said that he too does not consult with the opposition.

“Ivanov too, does not consult with the opposition. Both the president and the government continue to make decisions without consulting VMRO-DPMNE, which I think is a huge mistake. Macedonia must be a member of the EU and NATO. Moscow is not our partner, our partners are Brussels, London and Washington”, said Nikoloski.

The Russian Embassy in Skopje reacted through its Twitter account and shared Nikoloski’s comments and under him wrote a “remarkable attitude”.
