The motorway from the Greek-Macedonian border to Thessaloniki has been blocked again by refugees. Around one hundred people blocked the road near Polikastro in protest to the living conditions in the temporary migrant camps and in Idomeni and in Kilkis.
The refugees set up the first blockade yesterday to protest both at Polikastro and the crossing Evzoni. From this morning the road was blocked again, they refugees ask for the borders to opened so they can continue their journey to the EU, explaining that they could not withstand life in the migrant camps any longer and do not want to stay in Greece.
Police have closed the road and are not allowing drivers to confront the refugees to avoid further tension.
The Greek media have been reporting unofficial information that refugees might have and volunteer- supporters, who provide tents and through the night convinced them to stay and sleep on the road and block both sides of the motorway, the road to the border and the other direction which is the road to Thessaloniki .
