MOI have fined criminal charges against Janakieski for illegally selling state apartments

Prilep police have filed criminal charges against former Minister of Transport and Communications, Mile Janakieski, who is charged with illegally allowing two individuals to buy state apartments in Prilep at favorable prices, thus damaging the state budget for approximately 2.6 million denars or around 42,000 euros, said today the Ministry of Interior.

According to the MOI, the criminal charges from the Prilep police have been submitted to the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for the Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption, who will investigate the case.

According to the charges, Janakieski and three other suspects are charged with abuse of official position and authority.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the first suspect, Mile Janakieski, in the period from 2007 to 2010, contrary to the provisions of the Law on the Sale of Social Housing and without a decision from the Government, put together contracts for the sale of apartments in the so-called “pensioners buildings” in Prilep, on Dimo Naradenikot street, to persons Z.A and D.R, who previously used the apartments on the basis of solutions issued by the Union of Fighters and the Union of Pensioners.
