Mickoski: The government wants to provoke VMRO-DPMNE to leave Parliament

-

The government wants to provoke VMRO-DPMNE to leave Parliament so that it can bring laws that go against the interests of the people, says VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski in an interview with the “Independent newspaper“.

He says the party decided that MPs in its ranks should attend yesterday’s session, which was when NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg addressed Parliament, because they did not want their absence to be misused.s

“We have been and remain with the policies oriented towards the European Union and NATO, and our protest is primarily aimed at the authorities that have carried out brutal political persecution. The government in the Parliament penalizes dozens of laws that are harmful and without any democratic debate. They are unwilling to hear a different opinion, and their unanimity is responsive, therefore, I have the feeling that our exit from parliament is a moment they are waiting for, that way they can bring laws that are contrary to the interests of the people. In other words, provoking the decision to abandon Parliament, de-focusing the public with other topics, while trains pass by, away from the eyes of the general public”, says Mickoski.

He adds that VMRO-DPMNE has not made a decision to return to parliament, but “very soon there definitley will be a decision”.

About recent developments in the name dispute and negotiations with Greece, the president of VMRO-DPMNE says that they are not currently familiar with the details of the negotiations and that the government “keeps the process non-transparent”.
