The temporary ad hoc commission for the regulation of the media could not reach a consensus regarding the selection of the fifth member, “Meta” learned from sources within the ad hoc body.
The members of the ad hoc body for the regulation of the media during the election campaign at today’s session were meant to choose their fifth member, to officially begin their work.
According to the Electoral Code, the fifth member has to be of Albanian ethnicity and has to be chosen through a public advertisement.
The ad hoc body should have been formed by August 19, however, because the amendments made to the Electoral Code and the Law on the Media were published in the “Official Gazette” four days late, the deadline for the fifth member was also prolonged by four days.
Slagjana Dimishkova and Cvetin Chilimanov were proposed by the VMRO-DPMNE, while Goran Trpenovski and Ljubomir Kostovski were proposed by the opposition, the SDSM.
