-

Reforms to the media are currently underway, however the pace and quality vary from pillar to pillar. This was pointed out at today’s presentation of the second periodical report, part of the project “Media Reform Observatory” implemented by the Foundation for Internet and Society “Metamorphosis”, “Agora” , Center for Promotion of Civil Values and the Platform for Investigative Journalism and Analysis (PINA), and with financial support from the Foundation Open Society – Macedonia.

The report, which refers to the period from 1 October to 31 December, 2017, regarding the four pillars of the Urgent Reform Priorities, identified the following key findings: public broadcasting reforms – started, but not fulfilled, government advertisements – partially fulfilled, access to public information – partially fulfilled, and defamation and slander – completely unfulfilled. OMR1_vtor_periodicen4

The    Media Reform Observatory will continue to monitor the fulfillment of the Urgent Reform Priorities in the coming period, presenting the results in the form of periodic reports, news and research stories. All results from the monitoring are available in Macedonian and Albanian on the MediaObservatorium.mk website.
