Macedonian textile manufacturers who have Greek partners are under stressed for collection

-

Euro or Drachma is the issue that concerns Macedonian textile companies in the wake of the Greek crisis. The collection of payment for the finished works is a key issue of textile manufacturers, who in the past four years of economic crisis slowly decreased business relations with Greek partners. President of the Textile Cluster Marijana Perkovska said that the most affected are the confections in Prilep and Gevgelija, where companies work with Greek capital.

– The exchange rate of the euro caused chaos for us. In the past four years, we have sifted Greek companies with which we cooperate. Now they are reduced to a few – said Perkovska.

According to her, the Macedonian textile manufacturers have no large cooperation with the Greeks.

Representatives of Shtip textile companies say that the rare cooperation with Greek retailers went well until now, with fast collection of payment of 15 days. The main supplier of work is a mixed Greek-Macedonian company from Bogdanci. With it, as they say, there is no problem with the collection of payment, because it is working with Macedonian bank account. However, they add, the current cooperation with the few Greek partners is done with caution due to different predictions about whether Greece will remain in the Eurozone.

Shtip companies work with partners in the Benelux countries and the main partner Germany. There are orders, and the only problem remains the fall of the exchange rate, because it also devalues the labor of Macedonian textile companies.
