At a press conference, held immediately after the press conference of the Special Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Minister of Culture, Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska, from the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle, stated that the information the SPO are spreading is all “hearsay” and “gossip”.
“All of the information which was stated by the SPO is far from the truth. Two days ago, the SPO received all the documents and made no analysis of the documents. What I want to say, is that the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle is a project of which I am extremely proud of and it is unfortunate that our noble idea for such a project is being used as a hostage of political marketing, which is in function for the electoral campaign. Today’s press conference was obviously part of a pre-prepared scenario, which aims to tarnish the work of the Ministry. This, I will not allow because all the employees here are honest and are dedicated to doing their jobs. Everything is false and fabricated and I responsibly reject all of the allegations, which the SPO are using to stain on my work and the work of other employees at the Ministry of Culture”, said Minister Kanceska-Milevska, who during the press conference showed and quoted documents which, according to her, prove the legitimacy of each phase of the construction of the facility.
Kanceska-Milevska pointed out that the procurement the SPO are blaming them for, has nothing to do with the construction of the museum, but for the arrangement of the ground floor. She said that transparency is fully respected and that the Law on Public Procurement has never been disregarded.
The Minister added that the entire project was done legally and that all items were “crystal clear” from the first to the last document.
The Minister of Culture urged journalists to inspect the full dossier on the case.
