Ivanov: Greece and we have entered in a foreign name game

President of the Republic of Macedonia Gjorgje Ivanov, in yesterday’s interview with TV “Sitel”, said that the issue for the name dispute has a new reality and that Macedonia and Greece entered a foreign game, in which others have interests.
– The name issue with Greece somehow entered into a different phase. We have a new reality. For the first time, on the political scene in Greece, there are politicians who are not burdened by the legacy of the Cold War and especially of the Civil War in Greece. The paradigm is changing. They and we become aware of the damage we are suffering from this dispute. Certain entities with which we have contacts are becoming aware that we and Greece have entered in a foreign game, from which we endure the damages. Over time someone created the illusion that the game is ours. On the contrary. Greece and we are involved in a foreign game, in which others have interests, and we only have the damage. So this young team, no matter how long it will survive, also opens other issues on the name problem that we face – citizens and businessmen and all those who have suffered only damage, and have no benefits. And it’s a pity for us, as well as for Greece itself, that its reputation is disturbed by all these developments regarding the name. So, I believe that there will be a different way and we will not be slaves of everything that was always associated with the name issue – said Ivanov.
