It is good that after the consultative referendum agreement will be discussed in Parliament, says Maas

-

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said that those who voted in the referendum want the country to continue its path to the EU and NATO.

“Even though many wanted a greater turnout, I am glad that the vast majority of those who exercised their democratic right voted for the Agreement with Greece. They want their country to continue its path towards the EU and NATO and to resolve the dispute, which has been between Macedonians and Greeks for 27 years. It is good that after the consultative referendum now the Agreement will be discussed in Macedonian Parliament,” said Maas.

Mass called all political forces in Skopje and Athens, to take advantage of the opportunities of the historic Agreement and to implement it. According to him, the Agreement strengthens good neighborly relations between the two countries and contributes to the stability of the Western Balkans and removes an important obstacle to Skopje’s approach to the EU and NATO.
