Institutions, borders and state bodies to receive new “Prespa” signs

-

At the 117th Government meeting held yesterday, one of the first points was the Information on the implementation of the Prespa Agreement. The measures and activities that are in accordance with the amendments to the Constitution were considered and the Government will have to take over the obligations seven days after the Agreement comes into force, i.e. by ratifying the Protocol for the accession of the country to NATO, by Greece.

In accordance with what was concluded, after that date, the ministries, state bodies and institutions, public enterprises and joint stock companies who are owned by the state will have to change signs and boards at border crossings across the country, diplomatic and consular offices, as well as at the entrances of the institutions.

Municipalities will also receive the same directions. The most interesting thing is that, as the Government says, “state sectors and public relations services and public institutions will receive guidelines for using the constitutional name in accordance with the adopted amendments. ”

Additionally, it is an obligation for state bodies to establish working groups for determining further measures and activities for the implementation of the provisions of the Prespa Agreement, and the General Secretariat of the Government was entrusted with the task of establishing an inter-ministerial group that will have to develop a comprehensive ‘National Action Plan’ for further measures and activities, for fulfilling the obligations of Macedonia which stem from the agreement with Greece.
