In the past few days, all measuring stations in Skopje ,Tetovo, Bitola and Kumanovo are consistently showing extremely high levels of air pollution. This morning, in the municipalities of Skopje, the Centre, Lisice, Gazi Baba and the measuring station at the Rectory, all showed very high levels of carcinogen PM10 particles. At the measuring station in Karpos, the pollution was down by one degrees.
There are high levels of PM10 particles in Miladinovci, showed both measuring stations in Bitola, Tetovo, Kocani and Kavadarci. The measuring station in Veles showed medium levels of air pollution.
In Skopje, the Centre and Karpos have very high levels of PM2,5.
Last night the measuring station at the Rectory showed 650 micrograms per cubic metre of PM10 particles, which is 13 times more than the maximum acceptable level of 50 micrograms per cubic metre. In Lisice at 23:00 pm, the measuring station showed 600 micrograms, or 12 times more than the maximum acceptable level.
Two days ago, the measuring station at the Rectory measured 981 microgram per cubic metre, which is almost 20 times more than the permitted 50 micrograms per cubic metre.
Usually, the concentration of PM10 particles reaches maximum levels in the evening, from 22:00 pm to 1:00 am.
In case of exceeding the maximum of 50 micrograms per cubic metre of PM10 particles in five consecutive days, the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning should issue a warning to the people urging them to use public transport instead of their vehicles, not to use vehicles unless absolutely necessary, more people to one car at a time, and to those who heat rooms in their homes with wooden stoves, not to use any synthetic material and to correctly use the wooden stoves.
