As a protest against the attack on our colleagues from the “A1on” portal and the continuous verbal attacks on all journalists, Meta News Agency joins other media outlets and will not report about today’s protests organized by the initiative “For a United Macedonia”, neither in Skopje or in other cities. If violence and new attacks occur, we shall report on those events, however, speeches and messages from the protest will be completely ignored.
We are doing this even more because the organizers of the protest didn’t express any remorse over the attack on the journalists from “A1on” nor did they promise to provide security for news crews and reporters in the future. At the same time, we call upon the participants, especially the Ministry of Interior, the Government and the organizers of the protests, to take and accept responsibility for the current incidents and for any future incidents.
