The European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy & Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn and the founder of the “Open Society” foundations, George Soros, today in Brussels discussed the strengthening of reforms and the open society in the countries from the Western Balkans and in Eastern Europe.

“It is always good to meet with George Soros to discuss our joint efforts to boost reforms and the open societies in the Western Balkans and Eastern Europe,” wrote Hahn on his Twitter profile.

George Soros is visiting Brussels where today and tomorrow he will be meeting with the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker and his deputy, Frans Timmermans, as well as with the European Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality, Vera Jourova and the European Commissioner for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness , Jyrki Katainen.

Otherwise, in Macedonia, which is a part of the Western Balkans’ region, along with Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, VMRO-DPMNE is leading a heavy campaign against the civil society and civil organizations, and the process they call “de-sorosization”.
