-

The European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, together with MEPs Ivo Vajgl, Eduard Kukan and Knut Fleckenstein will arrive for a few hour visit in Macedonia, in a bid to help find a solution to the political crisis in the country.

Yesterday, EC spokesperson, Maja Kocijančić, announced that Hahn and the three MEPs will be meeting with political representatives. So far, neither the European Commission nor the President’s cabinet have confirmed a meeting with the four from Brussels and President Gjorge Ivanov.

Kocijančić said that during the visit, they will repeat the EU’s position, that the outcome of the elections should be respected, and to allow the continuation of democratic processes by swiftly forming a pro reform government who will go on to implement

On Friday, Commissioner Hahn in an interview with “Deutsche Welle”, said that Macedonian politicians must adhere to the Przino Agreement but warned that “even after the elections and the formation of a new government, all the problems will not resolved.” Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, who appeared as an intermediary between Albanian political parties while drafting the platform, Hahn found it to be counterproductive.
