VMRO-DPMNE’s party leader, Nikola Gruevski, along with the members of VMRO-DPMNE’s Executive Committee, Vlatko Gjorchev and Aleksandar Nikolovski, had a meeting with the European People’s Party’s (EPP) Secretary of External Relations, Patrick Voller, with whom they spoke about the cooperation of the party with the EPP’s family including the current happenings in the country.
The leader of the opposition party introduced the interlocutor with the current occasions on a political and economic plan. He stressed that in Macedonia there is a degradation of the legal state and the democracy.
-What is done is a classical political persecution and revanchism on a party basis. Artists are taken into detention only for a stated opinion and they are charged with non-existing acts such as terrorism.Unfortunately, we are becoming a state where instead of using democracy, fear and violation of basic human rights are used as means of rule contrary to the basic European and universal values. Macedonia is a country where actors, artists, directors, engineers are prosecuted and where the government arrested 12% of the MP group of the leading opposition party or 5% of the total MP personnel – said Gruevski.
He stressed that Macedonia is becoming an entrapped state, and the main goal of that attack is VMRO-DPMNE, where more than 150 persons are under the attack of a political prosecution on different basis.
