VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski does not explicitly say whether he will resign from the leadership position if the party loses in the local elections, but nevertheless, he believes that in such a case “the party leader is the most responsible”.
“Of course, the party leader always has the biggest responsibility”, answering the question of whether he would resign if VMRO-DPMNE loses in the local elections, Said Gruevski at the “Alsat-M” TV show.
When asked what would mean to him a victory in the local elections – more municipalities or more votes, Gruevski said, both things are important.
“Of course, the number of municipalities is the most important and the number of votes, too. The number of municipalities in local elections is probably more important than the number of votes, but both are important”, said VMRO-DPMNE leader.
Regarding the violence on 27th of April, Gruevski said that the event should not have happened, but also, the procedures for the election of the Parliament Speaker were wrong. He couldn’t say whether MPs from VMRO-DPMNE opened the Parliament’s doors and that is unclear and should be investigated.
