After the meeting with President of the European Council Donald Tusk, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said that Macedonia can count on his support. Tusk was interested for the reforms in the country, and most of the meeting went into a discussion of the reason for the Greek blockade of Macedonia’s accession negotiations with the European Union.
– It was inevitable to mention the main obstacle for the negotiations. We have his support, we know each other a very long time, and he always declared that they support Macedonia’s membership in the EU, i.e. the start of the negotiations, but it is not solely up to him – said Gruevski.
Prime Minister also added that Tusk “can help,” but that the ultimate decision requires the approval of all EU member states.
