The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, at the start of March will be coming to visit Macedonia, as part of her mini-tour throughout the countries of the Western Balkans, announced the European Commission.
The EC informs that from the 1st until 4th of March, Mogherini will visit Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro and Macedonia.
The goal of the visit is, as announced by Mogherini, to ensure that the process of integration of the countries from Western Balkans is irrevocable.
-For the European Union, the work with the Western Balkans, the region that is at the heart of Europe is a key priority. I would like to meet each of the partners from the Western Balkans as they are progressing on their reformatory road towards the European Union and to ensure that this process is irrevocable. The regional cooperation and the good neighborly relations remain of a crucial meaning in this process – said Mogherini before the announced tour of the Western Balkans.
During the region’s visit, Mogherini will meet political authorities, including the representatives of the countries’ governments, political parties, and the national Parliaments.
It is planned that Mogherini will inform the EU’s Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the results from the visit, at a meeting set for the 6th of March.
