The Russian diplomat who was expelled by Macedonian authorities over the poisoning of former spy Sergei Skripal in Salisbury, UK, left this morning through Skopje International Airport, reports TASS.
The expelled diplomat and his family were escorted from the Embassy of the Russian Federation to the sound of the patriotic march “Proshchaniye Slavyanki“.
They arrived at Skopje Airport accompanied by a group of his colleagues, led by Ambassador Oleg Shcherbak.
Last week, Shcherbak said at a press conference, that the move to expel a Russian diplomat from Macedonia, as a first step in bilateral relations, is a rash step. He believes that Macedonia was put under pressure from abroad, and that the move would not go without a proper response from Russia.
