The European Commission has welcomed the return of the opposition to Parliament. EC spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic said that now is the time Parliament should start work on reform priorities in the interest of the whole country.
“We welcome the fact that the opposition is now back in Parliament. You know that it is part of the agreement brokered by the European Union, which was reached in June and July. It is important that this agreement be implemented. We expect Parliament to start work on reform priorities in the interest of the country”, said Kocijancic.
As to the special prosecutor, Kocijancic said that this issue is still being discussed and that the parties expect to maintain and to implement all agreed commitments.
“The Commission, in particular Commissioner Johannes Hahn, has been closely following events and expects progress in this area”, she added.
