During a marathon session, the SEC rejected all complaints from the election

-

The State Election Commission (SEC) has rejected all the complaints which were submitted for voting and summarizing the results of the first round of the local elections that took place on Sunday, October 15th.

A spokeswoman for the SEC, Ljupka Gugucevska told “Meta” that during their marathon session, which began yesterday at around 10:00 am, ended this morning and that all complaints were rejected.

The SEC decided on a total of 43 complaints, of which 40 were submitted by VMRO-DPMNE, and one by TMRO, the Alliance for Albanians and the Levica party.

Against the decisions of the SEC, parties can file an appeal to the Administrative Court within 24 hours of the receiving the decisions, which, in turn, is obliged to make a decision within 48 hours upon receiving the appeal.

The second round of local elections will be held on October 29th.

Otherwise, during the SEC session, they reviewed mostly complaints which developed into fierce arguments between the members of the Commission from SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE.

The commission concluded that for part of the complaints made by VMRO-DPMNE were due to technical errors which were repeated, that is, instead of the names of the municipalities where the polling stations that were subject to the complaint were listed, the name of another municipality was listed. The representatives of the applicant VMRO-DPMNE agreed that there were mistakes in the complaints, but they demand that the SEC, in addition, decides upon them officially because there were irregularities.
