We want to see Macedonia prosperous and successful, said British Minister of State for Europe, Alan Duncan to Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov after signing a joint declaration for partnership and cooperation between the Republic of Macedonia and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
“Our two countries are committed to working bilaterally and multilaterally to fulfill this vision and to handle the challenges that we face together”, states the joint statement for partnership and cooperation between the Republic of Macedonia and the United Kingdom.
Dimitrov expressed satisfaction that the UK is ready to give concrete support to the reform processes of Macedonia.
“This partnership is equally useful for both countries – for Macedonia it is an inspiration that is supported by one of the oldest democracies, and for Great Britain it is a confirmation for their unselfish engagement to strengthen democracy”, Dimitrov said.
According to the Macedonian Foreign Ministry, at the meeting it was confirmed the British support for the Euro-Atlantic integration of Macedonia and it was emphasized that the United Kingdom remains strongly present in the Western Balkans region and supports the membership of the countries from the Region in the EU.
