Belgrade, 3 January, 2017 - 14:02 (META)

With Ivica Dačić’s latest statements, he is knowingly violating relations in the region and is again inciting and provoking reactions from neighbouring countries, says one of the two announcements by the Serbian Liberal Democratic Party in response to the interview with Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić where he stated that Serbia had made a big mistake by recognizing Macedonia under its constitutional name.

According to the Serbian Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Dačić’s statement confirms that his political principle is calculated nationalism which always causes new conflicts and suffering.

“With just one of his statements, he managed to cause verbal conflicts with each of the neighbouring countries. By challenging Croatia, Montenegro and Macedonia, the Foreign Minister is again causing the deterioration of relations in the region, who for the most part of the year were usually behind us”, said a statement by the LDP.

The LDP led by Čedomir Jovanović, added that instead of reducing tensions, the Serbian Foreign Minister is prepared to open fronts, which at the moment, are not in Serbia’s interests, and all this because of his selfish ambition for the upcoming campaign, and he is stepping up with the nationalist rhetoric. (This year, Serbia should be holding presidential elections, however, in the last moment, there is a possibility that early parliamentary elections might be held with them).
