Bulgarian “Kapital”: Hahn’s statement was not taken out of context, Kocijancic confirmed this

-

Today, Bulgarian weekly “Kapital” stated to “Meta” that EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn statement was not taken out of context was reliably reported.
“Hahn’s statement was not taken out of context and was reported on correctly. I listened to the tape again and I reviewed the notes, and then contacted his spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic. She had no objections about the interview and told me that it was probably reported wrongly to the Macedonian media”, Miroslava Gurova told “Meta”, the Bulgarian journalist from the magazine “Kapital” who did the interview with the European Commissioner.
Gurova said that Hahn during the interview, when talking about our country, has used both terms, the FYROM abbreviation, and its constitutional name, Macedonia.
“It is a sensitive issue. The interview was long, so the EU used both terms”, Gurova told us.
However, Kocijancic yesterday claimed that Bulgarian magazine “Kapital” probably took the statement out of context by Commissioner Hahn where he also stated in his last statement that he favours a consensus decision by all parties on the election date to ensure fair elections in accordance with democratic standards.
