Belgrade insists at the EU for a peaceful solution for the crisis in Macedonia

-

The public discourse that is calling for violence, in a lack of a crucial dialogue between Belgrade and Prishtina and the instability in Macedonia represent a serious and open threat for the peace in South Eastern Europe, was the main message from the unofficial document that the Serbian Minister for European Integrations, Jadranka Joksimovic, and the director of the Office for Kosovo, Marko Gjuric, have submitted to the ambassadors of the countries – members of the EU in Belgrade.

In the document that was submitted during the meeting of the government of Serbia, Belgrade insists on seeking a balanced and peaceful political solution to the crisis in Macedonia as well as unconditional following of international norms regarding the respecting of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the internationally recognized countries and “rejection of the violence as a tool for accomplishing political goals.”

Serbia also appeals to all relevant international factors “to condemn the aggressive rhetoric that is undoubtedly pushing the Western Balkans into new clashes and divisions” and is calling for “urgent continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Prishtina for normalization of its relations” under the monitoring of the EU.

The document also states the new examples of “irresponsible and provocative statements and aggressive rhetoric of the Albanian political leaders in Albania, Kosovo, and the southern part of Serbia with a remark that there is an indication for well-coordinated moves for promoting the idea for “a Great Albania.”
