The US Embassy denied the media reports that US Ambassador Jess Baily is interfering with in the work of the State Election Commission.
“With concern, we noted the ongoing inaccurate reports claiming the US Ambassador is interfering with the work of the State Electoral Commission. This is not a time for publishing fake news or conspiracies. The Ambassador of the United States has not met with representatives of the SEC, he has not visited the SEC, nor has he intervened with any of the members of the SEC. The US supports the rights of the Macedonian citizens to a democratic process that is open, transparent, and accountable. This includes the reviewing of appeals and complaints, in accordance with Macedonian laws”, reads the statement by the US Embassy.
