The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services is starting to monitor broadcasters’ coverage of the 2017 local elections, stated AVMU, saying that the monitoring of the media coverage will be conducted in accordance with the Electoral Code.
“A letter has already been sent to all broadcasters, where they are precisely informed about obligations of the Electoral Code, which should adhere to the beginning of the election campaign, and special training will be held. Regarding the manner of reporting to broadcasters, the Agency will publish reports for every 10 days, “the statement said.
AVMU informs that surveillance methodology and the Electoral Code have already been set up on the website of the Agency, but also, that all information related to thenb local elections will be published on this page.
The announcement states that broadcasters that will broadcast paid political advertising during the election campaign should within five days of announcing the elections determine and submit the price lists to the AVMU, the State Election Commission, the State Audit Office and the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption.
