Appellate Court rejects Janakieski and Bozinovski’s appeals for release from custody

After yesterday’s sessions, the Criminal Council of the Skopje Court of Appeal, today decided to reject the appeals of the indicted Mile Janakieski and Kiril Bozinovski regarding the 30-day detention measure for the SPO’s case “Titanic”.

“After the public sessions, the Criminal Council of the Skopje Court of Appeal have rejected the appeals of defendants Mile Janakieski from Skopje and Kiril Bozinovski from Skopje, and declared them as unfounded and have upheld the rulings of the Basic Court Skopje I Skopje, who ruled in favour of detainment,” the Skopje Court of Appeals said.

Yesteday, SPO prosecutor Lile Stefanova said that on November 13, 2018, Janakieski was prepared to flee Macedonia, and also noted that the Directorate for Security and Counterintelligence said the same for Kiril Bozinovski.

The two were detained on 14 November following the escape of former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski to Hungary.
