And the Helsinki Committee got a paint job

-

Two unknown persons yesterday morning poured red paint on the sign at the entrance of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights.

The actual deed was recorded by cameras installed outside the building.

Uranija Pirovska, the Director of the Committee, characterized the act as “Counter-Colouring” because the Helsinki Committee openly supports the “Colourful Revolution”.

“The incident happened around 2:00 am. Keep in mind that the “Colourful Revolution” throws paint and colour at institutions which were created to serve the citizens, while all these organizations and privately owned buildings do not enter into that category, especially since the Helsinki Committee is a house where every citizen can come and get free legal assistance. The manner of this scenario is of those in power”, says Pirovska.

The committee said that the event was reported to the Ministry of Interior, and the pictures from the cameras of the building will be submitted as evidence.

Last week the logo of the foundation “Open Society”, and the Youth Educational Forum were coloured. Also, the window of the well known Skopje cafe “Izlet” in the centre of Skopje was also coloured with paint. However, the owner also participates in the protests organized by the”Colourful Revolution”.
