“We, invite you to repeat the Commission’s recommendation to open negotiations for Macedonia’s membership into the EU and its shared friends from Washington and other EU Member States, to return the focus on the resolution of the name dispute and the opening of the Euro-Atlantic perspective for Macedonia”, it said on the letter from the DUI leader Ali Ahmeti, had sent the Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn.
“The Cooperation with the International Community and joint policy making always wore benefits for my country and our citizens, since achieving the Ohrid Framework Agreement, acquiring the status of candidate country for EU membership until the visa liberalization recommendation to open negotiations approximation with the EU and NATO. We promise to be engaged over the implementation of reforms expected establishment of stable and sustainable institutions and a democratic and responsible society, but at the same time we expect your commitment to overcoming the last obstacle standing between Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic integration”, it says in the letter to Mr Hahn.
In Ahmeti’s letter, he wants to point out that Hahn, Brussels and Washington have a partner in him and DUI for the country’s integration into the EU and NATO because, according to Ahmeti, it is a strategic and by definition, there is no alternative.
