The leader of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), Ali Ahmeti, today assured Victoria Nuland, the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the US State Department, that the DUI party are the most constructive in finding a solution and quickly reaching a compromise in the current crisis in the country, says the party.
The statement by the DUI party says that Ahmeti and Nuland, discussed ways to resolve the political crisis in the country and to return the country to the Euro-Atlantic agenda in an open and friendly way. Nuland expressed the assessment of the US and called Ahmeti ‘s role constructive towards reaching a solution, as well as close cooperation with the US authorities.
“This compromise should result in comprehensive, credible and democratic elections as soon as possible”, said Ahmeti.
The DUI leader informed Nuland of the proposals DUI have made regarding the purification of the voters’ list and the media, and the need for both sides to agree on conditions for elections, and then to set a date for early elections.
“Facing the risk from a variety of influences, Ahmeti sought support from America, and for them to follow our path towards integration into NATO and the EU, and together with Nuland noted that it is a common goal,” said a statement from the party.
