A new council to be formed for monitoring the implementation of the strategy in the judiciary led by Zaev

At the 48th session, the Government decided to adopt the proposal to amend the Law on Protection of Whistle-blowers and submitted it to Parliament for further adoption, informed the Government Press Office today.

With the amendments, the law will be synchronized with the international standards prescribed in this area and will provide greater protection for whistle-blowers.

Among other items at the session, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev announced that by the end of January a new body, the “Council for monitoring the implementation of the strategy in the judiciary from the period 2017 – 2022” will be formed, with which he will preside over personally.

“Zaev, at the 48th session, publicly thanked the members of the Judicial Reform Council for their successful work within the Ministry of Justice, who have actively worked on the preparation of the Strategy as an obligation determined in sections 3 and 6 of the “3-6-9” plan, the government statement said.

At the session, the Government also adopted the information on the realization of the recommendations of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) from the Council of Europe.
